yes, there are SO many podcasts out there, but do you know that only about 8% of podcasts make it to 10 episodes, with most podcasts finishing after 3 episodes?!!!
do you know what that means? there is still room for you at the table, but you are going to want to be prepared!
when I started my podcast in 2024, I wanted an aesthetic podcast setup with video, but I also needed it to be budget-friendly (under $2k) and simple enough to maintain as a work-from-home mom
so this is what actually helped me:
prioritizing audio quality over everything good podcast audio will always matter more than fancy visuals / perfect set up
getting clear on my podcast brand first (this makes everything else easier — your visuals, your content, your setup)
make sure you figure out what you want to talk about for the first 3-6 months! you want to be able to get those episodes out so people know what they are there for. It is okay to experiment but the more the content is “bingeable” (aka related to a topic people will love) the better!
