I had my first sip of a PSL this week and I am so sorry to my summer-lovers, but that was game over for me. I already had been dreaming about cooler days, but now that pumpkin is out at starbucks? It is full on fall mode for me! This time of year is so short for us Canadians so I always like to make a bucket list for myself to stay on track of all the things I want to do before the snow falls (okay I am SORRY for talking about snow in August, I just have to be real)
Anyways, here are some things I am dreaming + scheming about as September begins
Do fall family photos
This has so many layers for me. First of all, I am trying to bring back as much nostalgic / analog / whimsy fun in my life, and that means sending out a physical Christmas Card. Last year I handed out cards with a family photo but this year my goal is to send some in the mail too! This means that I need to order the photos in time to do this.
Last year I waited much too late into November to do photos, and we didn’t have the cute outfits I wanted nor were there any fall colours left, only dry brown grass. This year I want to plan with a LITTLE more intention.
Every time I look at Theodore he looks so much older which makes me want to take family photos every day, but I especially want to capture this last season with just the three of us before baby comes!
Cinnamon Roll Saturdays
The first couple weeks of September will be dedicated to getting our new home in order, but once it is, I want to get in the habit of making cinnamon rolls on Saturdays! How cozy
Hot Coffee Outside
There is nothing like the CRISP morning air in the fall, and what could pair better than sitting outside with a hot cup of coffee
Apple Picking
This is something I really want to do this year with Theodore, I feel like he would think it is fun + how cute would the photos be?
Pumpkin Patch + Carving
Of COURSE we will be going to a pumpkin patch and carving!
Outdoor Cozy Picnic
It seems like second nature to bring a meal outside during the spring or summer, but in the fall, I never think to do this! I want to do one afternoon where we pack some baked goods, a thermos of tea, and some blankets and go have a cozy picnic
Overall I am just so excited for fall + truly cannot wait for all that is to come!
screentime is a HOT topic in parenting, and to be honest, my hot take on that matter is that we should really be focusing equally on our own screen time as parents and how that affects our kids. i am definitely not an expert on this topic, though I do want to do more reading […]
