If you feel like every single day you start off with good intentions for the day, but by 10am you are in full choas mode, and running on fumes for most of the day?
That was me, 99% of the time. I would start my days with frazzled energy, just thinking this was the normal. Before I even looked at my to-do list I felt behind.
Sound relatable? If yes, I want to ask you what you are having for breakfast.
For the longest time my breakfast consisted of an iced latte. Sometimes from home, sometimes from Starbucks. I didn’t usually feel super hungry in the mornings so I would start with coffee and go from there. Some days if I was feeling crazy I would add a bagel with some cream cheese.
It took me much too long to realize that this combo was setting me up to fail in major ways. I would feel wired and energized, but it wasn’t in a healthy way, and would always come with a major afternoon crash.
Everything changed when I started eating before I drank my coffee. Specifically, something protein-rich. That one gentle shift made the biggest difference.
It made me stop running on adrenaline and fumes and helped my brain to WORK!
Here is what has worked for me:
food before caffeine: Your body deserves something nourishing before anything stimulating.
protein is powerful: It stabilizes blood sugar, supports mood, and keeps you full longer.
practice eating breakfast: If you aren’t in the habit of eating breakfast, it may feel like an adjustment as your body might not naturally be hungry in the morning, but just try it out for a bit and see how you feel!
finding meals you love: It has to feel WORTH the extra effort! experiment and find what you like for the morning: are you more sweet or savory? pinterest is always a great tool for some inspo!
If you have never tried a high protein breakfast THIS IS YOUR SIGN! Truly my life changed forever when I started prioritizing breakfast over caffeine 🤎
